Chris Maloney, Managing Director of Mastic Asphalt Council (MAC) member company Covered Roofing Supplies, has very kindly donated six fully equipped tool bags for use by apprentices currently on the mastic asphalt apprenticeship course at New City College Hackney.
Worth over £500 each, the tool bags are kitted out with almost all the devices and equipment a mastic asphalt applicator may need to carry out their work efficiently and safely. They include tape measures, staple guns, PPE such as safety gloves and high viz vests, and much more.
Chris said: “We need more young people entering the mastic asphalt industry so apprentices are very important in our sector. I have made it my personal pact to do everything I can to encourage people to go into the mastic asphalt trade and develop their skills, so was delighted to donate the tool bags which will serve the current apprentices well in their career moving forward.”
MAC Director Malcolm Grinstead added: “This is an amazing gesture from Chris and Covered Roofing Supplies. The MAC Board of Directors and the apprentices themselves are very grateful for the donation of the tool bags.”
