New MAC Member
The latest contractor member to join the Mastic Asphalt Council (MAC) is Clegg & Shortman Asphalt Co. Ltd based in Plymouth. Established in 1975, the company was originally founded by Alan Clegg and although Alan has now retired, it still remains a family run business with sons Matthew and Danny Clegg at the helm. Matthew has stepped into the role as Managing Director with Danny overseeing site works as Site Manager/Foreman.
With 16 members of staff and carrying out work in Plymouth and across Devon and Cornwall, Clegg & Shortman deal with both commercial and domestic projects, with clients ranging from local businesses, home and property owners, large contractors, housing associations, local authorities and schools. Over recent years, the company has been using and specifying mastic asphalt more and more, which influenced the company’s decision to become a MAC member.
Recent mastic asphalt projects have included the historic Tregantle Fort in Cornwall and Royal Bank of Scotland in Plymouth – a project which was carried out through M.A.M Roofing Services. The company is soon commencing works to Lord Louis Crescent in Mount Batten, Plymouth.
