Following the success of the MAC Awards 2024 earlier this year, the Mastic Asphalt Council (MAC) has announced that next year’s MAC Awards and Luncheon will be taking place on Friday 6th June 2025 at the Royal Horseguards Hotel in London – with more awards categories than ever before, even more support from the industry by way of sponsorship and a famous guest speaker.

AccuRoof, a part of SIG Roofing, are Headline Sponsors for the MAC Awards 2025 and a brand new awards category is being introduced which will be known as the AccuRoof/MAC Contract of the Year.

This will be an overall Contract of the Year accolade chosen from the winners of the four existing awards categories – namely the Car Decks and Paving Project of the Year; General Work, Development and Hybrid Project of the Year; Heritage Project of the Year; and Small Works Project of the Year. There will also be individual awards including Apprentice of the Year.

The guest speaker at the event will be Alan Brazil, a Scottish broadcaster and former footballer who is Host of the talkSPORT Breakfast Show. In his playing career, he played for the likes of Ipswich Town, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, and represented Scotland in international football.

Malcolm Grinstead, Director of the Mastic Asphalt Council, said: “The MAC Awards and Luncheon are growing year on year, with even more impressive awards submissions showing the many capabilities of mastic asphalt, and increased support from the industry.

“We’re very thankful to AccuRoof, a part of SIG Roofing, who are Headline Sponsors at the event for the first time, and we also very much appreciate the support from BriggsAmasco, W J Horrod, IKO and John Fetherston Roofing who are sponsoring the event once again in 2025. Without their support, we simply couldn’t host an event as impressive or as far-reaching as it is.”

The MAC Awards and Luncheon 2025 will be a landmark event for MAC Director Malcolm, who is officially leaving the mastic asphalt industry after a sterling 55 years’ service. MAC will be seeking his successor, inviting expressions of interest for the position of MAC Director early in the new year.
